PHILOSOPHY

BIO            PHILOSOPHY            RÉSUMÉ

Education has always been a valuable component of my life.  I have traveled and studied abroad to expand my worldview and create new opportunities.  Throughout all my travels, I have found that there is only one difference between formal and informal education; a ceremonial confirmation at the end.  Therefore, I encourage all learners to learn without hesitation of ceremonial celebration because you may not celebrate at the course's end but you will celebrate the fruits of your labor and that is more powerful than a ceremonial celebration.

I believe that learning occurs daily.  It comes from family, coworkers, neighbors, teachers, or passersby.  There is always something to learn and it doesn't have to be in a classroom setting.  Today, I am embarking on a new journey of self-discovery, with self-awareness mixed in along the way, to rekindle my passion of learning and teaching.  I am excited to bear witness to this journey and reflect upon it at the close of 2019 and, hopefully, by then, I'll have a solid foundation of my philosophy.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

-Nelson Mandela

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. Most teachers waste their time by asking questions that are intended to discover what a pupil does not know, whereas the true art of questioning is to discover what the pupil does know or is capable of knowing.

-Albert Einstein
